Choosing ceramic tiles
You choose a tile in three steps. First the location: a wall tile is often thinner and lighter, a floor tile must be able to withstand load. Wall and floor tiles can be used in both places, and outdoor tiles are intended for terrace and balcony.
Then the look and the surface. Large formats such as 60 × 120 give a calm look with few joints. A structured or microstructured surface feels less smooth, which can be pleasant in wet rooms. When ordering, allow 5 to 10% extra for cutting waste.
